On a night where you thought the biggest play belonged to the Toronto Raptors' Hedo Turkoglu for finally coming up with a clutch shot down the stretch (drilling the game winner with 8 seconds left in a 109-107 road overtime win in D.C.), the Black Mamba strikes again with not one, but two buzzer beaters that can go in his personal scrapbook. Los Angeles and Miami put on quite a show in the end for ESPN.

In a game where it looked like the Lakers were going to choke a comfortable 4th quarter lead to Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat, you saw Derek Fisher drill a three-pointer with about 4 seconds remaining in regulation to cut the lead to one point. D-Wade gets fouled, misses the first and makes the second which left Coach Erick Spoelstra extremely nervous. Laker Coach Phil Jackson would've probably chewed out Ron Artest for a poor inbounds play, but Kobe did it again. Boom, head shot! With Dwayne Wade's outstretched arm in his face too. 108-107 as you saw Staples Center erupt into a playoff atmosphere down the stretch of this fantastic contest. The fact that it was literally a miracle throw that banked in makes it all the more impressive.
Even with Lamar Odom getting ejected, the Lakers improved to 15-3 which is the best record in basketball. They also have the largest win streak which is now eight. Sunday pits the Lakers once again at Staples Center, bringing Coach of the Month Alvin Gentry and his 14-5 team to town. Meanwhile this heartbreaking loss for the Miami Heat drops them to 10-9. The Southeast Division as a whole was 0-4 on Friday with the Orlando Magic being the only team not to play on the evening. Dwayne Wade and crew will look to recover in Sacramento versus the 9-8 Kings on Sunday who play the Suns the day beforehand.
Here's some NBA players giving their views on this buzzer beater via their Twitter accounts. Just about reaffirms why he's still the best player in the league.
Golden State Warriors' C.J. Watson: "Black Mamba does it again that's why he's the best."
Memphis Grizzlies' Rudy Gay: "Are you kidding me Kobe!"
Sacramento Kings' Jon Brockman: "Wow that shot by Kobe was amazing."
Los Angeles Clippers' Rasual Butler: "The shot Kobe hit was crazy! Wow!"
Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant: "Wow what a great shot by Kobe bean!"
