There were only three games to begin 2010 on Friday, and boy what a start to this new decade it was. The evening began with the New York Knicks knocking off the Atlanta Hawks in OT 112-108. Nate Robinson came off Mike D'Antoni's bench for the first time in one month (14 games). He made 18 of 24 shots and finished with 41 points and 8 assists in 38 minutes of action, including eleven of the Knicks' thirteen overtime points. Keep in mind Atlanta was up 80-67 going into the 4th period before NYC made its charge in front of a stunned Phillips Arena crowd.

In regulation, Atlanta was up 95-91 with 2:27 left as Nate would put up the Knicks' final 8 points, including a lay-up that tied the contest at 99 points a piece with 11.3 seconds remaining. The rest was all Robinson who was greeted after the game by former Hawk Dikembe Mutombo as Mike D'Antoni now has Robinson back in his rotation. "We were kind of like 'Everybody get out of his way'", said D'Antoni whose team is now 14-20. Wilson Chandler grabbed a career-best 17 rebounds and tallied 24 solid points in the winning effort. Atlanta fell to 21-11 despite twenty-point plus games from Joe Johnson (28), Josh Smith (24), and Al Horford (22).

New Year, New Shoes

The Christmas games last Friday saw the unveiling of some specialty editions of new shoes out on the basketball market. You be the judge as far as what looked good and what left your head scratching. Personally my #1 head scratcher is when LeBron whipped out these personalized 'I Love New York' shoes yet to be released.

Best & Worst of Christmas Weekend
Written by Adam Papageorgiou    Monday, 28 December 2009 16:05    Print E-mail

Welcome to Media Monday where NBA360.tv takes a look at recent videos clips and images relating to the National Basketball Association. Today's focus is on some of the gems we witnessed during the Christmas weekend which saw a quintuple header of nationally televised action headline the holiday season on Friday. So let's take a look at an NBA Store blunder. A New Jersey Nets fan wanted to order a Yi Jianlian jersey for his son. The problem? They used a Houston Rockets template on the Nets jersey. Now I know Yi was out for a long period of time, but unless they know something we don't as far as a trade rumor, they clearly were thinking Yao Ming when making that jersey. Merry Christmas sir, I hope you sell that weird screw-up on eBay and make a profit.

Christmas Day Preview & Odds
Written by Adam Papageorgiou    Thursday, 24 December 2009 22:42    Print E-mail

Christmas Eve saw zero games played in the National Basketball Association. Friday brings most basketball fans pure glee as all five games on tap are on national television. In the league's 2nd year of existence back in 1947, the NBA began playing games on Christmas with the New York Knicks defeating the Providence Steam Rollers 89-75 at Madison Square Garden. 202 games have been played 62 years after the tradition began. The only time there hasn't been at least one Christmas game played was during the '98-'99 lockout. Home teams have over a 66% winning percentage with the home teams being victorious 9 out of 11 times in the past 4 years.
